How it works

National Black Arts Festival, Reaching Early Creatives Next Gen Residency at Carver STEAM Academy in Atlanta, GA.

Reaching Early Creatives (REC) offers in-school music production residencies designed to build technical skills, support career readiness in music, and boost student engagement and academic success. These programs are designed for under-resourced schools looking to strengthen their music technology offerings.

focus Areas

Music production using industry-standard tools

  • Songwriting and creative planning

  • Studio skills and vocal recording

  • Career pathways in music and media

  • Project-based learning and final presentation of student work

Programs are adapted from REC’s core workshops: Beat Basics, Power in the Pen, and Get On Track. Each program is designed to be accessible for beginners and engaging for students with prior experience.
