  • Pro Tools 101: Fundamentals I

    This course introduces core Pro Tools functions. You will learn how to set up sessions, record audio, sequence MIDI, and perform basic edits. You will apply standard mix techniques using Pro Tools tools and workflows.

    By the end of this course, you will be able to produce a basic music or post-production session independently.

    Topics include:

    • Creating and configuring new sessions

    • Recording and editing audio and MIDI

    • Navigating multi-track timelines

    • Working with virtual instruments

    • Using basic plugins and signal routing

    • Completing and exporting a stereo mix

    Pro Tools 110: Fundamentals II

    This course builds on PT101 and prepares you for working with mid-sized commercial sessions. You will use advanced editing, automation, and time-based tools. You will also learn techniques for collaboration, delivery, and session optimization.

    By the end of this course, you will be able to run more complex sessions with higher track counts and more advanced production needs.

    Topics include:

    • Loop recording and layered MIDI sequencing

    • Using Elastic Audio and clip-based effects

    • Track grouping, submixes, and bus routing

    • Applying automation for volume, pan, and effects

    • Integrating video and sound design

    • Preparing sessions for delivery or collaboration

    Together, PT101 and PT110 fulfill the training requirement for the Pro Tools Specialist exam.

  • This course is for students and professionals who want to build fluency in Pro Tools for music, audio, and post-production. It is commonly taken by:

    • Music producers and session musicians

    • Recording and mix engineers

    • Sound designers and editors for film, TV, and media

    • Educators and instructors in media, music, or AV programs

    You do not need prior experience with Pro Tools. You should be familiar with operating systems (Mac or Windows), and basic DAW concepts like audio tracks, MIDI, interfaces, microphones, and signal flow.

  • You will complete two AVID-approved courses with hands-on, instructor-led training. After the course, you will be eligible to take the Avid Certified | Pro Tools Specialist exam.
